In the Shade of Crystal Pier

In the Shade of Crystal Pier
9x12 pastel on paper

Have long wanted to paint Crystal Pier. Finally got to it. Originally planned to do a scene looking out to sea but when I turned around I came across this fascinating view looking up into the complex structure of the pier. Very challenging, trying not to get lost in all the confusion of beams and columns.

Happy Halloween

Ghostly Cypress Trees
9x12 pastel on paper

For Halloween I painted these ghost like cypress trees. Boo!
Ok, I know, you don't scare that easy.
Sorry this is as scary as I get, I'm no Francis Bacon.

Under the Ficus

Under the Ficus
9x12 pastel on paper

This is a pastel of my lawn chair under the great shade giving ficus tree.
This is also number one of my front yard series.
I am going to see how many paintings I can create just in my front yard.

The Old Fence

The Old Fence
10"x11" gouache on paper

Went out to Santa Ysabel with my friend and fellow painter Eddie.
Came accross this delightful scene.
A very beautiful part of the world.
Hope to get out there again soon.

Burton House - Evening Light

9x12 pastel on paper

One of the historic victorian houses in Heritage Park, near Old Town.
Built in 1893, now a Tea Room and Shop.
Nice collection of interesting shapes in this subject.
That must be why I like old buildings so much.
