"Cathy in a Floppy Hat" 16x12 oil on canvas panel. Painted at the Rancho Santa Fe Art Fair on Sunday September 7, 2008. It was a beautiful day, met lots of art lovers and fellow artists.
I love landscapes, and hope to produce some worthy efforts of my own.
My biggest influences are the French painters from Corot to Matisse.
I paint en plein aire (outdoors) and alla prima (in one session).
Painting outdoors is so much more interesting than in a studio.
I paint in one session to better capture the fleeting moment of an ever-changing subject.
I enjoy painting in either oil or watercolor
They both have their advantages and challenges.

He is mostly self-taught, but was very fortunate to attend some excellent workshops. His resolution for 2004 was to seriously pursue his dream of becoming a fine artist. Now he looks forward to creating art and sharing his work at exhibitions and on the Internet.
